Hans-Joachim Lustig is a German choir director. He completed his studies in school music and was awarded a scholarship by the German Music Council in 1994/1995. Lustig's career began with significant roles such as leading the Uetersen Boys' Choir from 1999 to 2023, where he achieved notable success. In 2002, he won a first federal prize at the 6th German Choir Competition with his chamber choir I Vocalisti. He has also served as a guest conductor for prestigious ensembles like the Philharmonia Chorus London and the Belgrade Radio Choir. Lustig founded the Mendelssohn Choir Hamburg and released notable works including Domine Deus in 2011, which showcases choral music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
