Lynn Morris, born on October 8, 1948 in Lamesa, Texas, is an American bluegrass musician. She began playing piano at age six and guitar at eleven, later learning banjo while attending Colorado College. In 1972, she joined City Limits and played with Whetstone Run from 1980 to 1986. Morris formed the Lynn Morris Band in 1988, which began recording for Rounder Records in 1990. Notable releases include Mama's Hand (1995) and "You'll Never Be the Sun" (1999). Her song "Mama’s Hand" won the IBMA Song of the Year award in 1996, and she was a three-time recipient of IBMA's Female Vocalist of the Year from 1996 to 1999. Morris retired from touring in 2003 due to a stroke but continued her work as an audio engineer. In 2021, Lynn Morris was inducted into the IBMA Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame.
