Unseen Terror was a British extreme metal band formed in 1986 by Mitch Dickinson and Shane Embury. The duo, initially a two-piece band, wrote and recorded several tracks that were distributed internationally via the tape trading network. Their breakthrough came when they contributed two tracks to the compilation LP Diminished Responsibility (1987), leading to a record contract with Earache Records. Unseen Terror released their debut album, Human Error, in June 1987. The band's most notable achievement was recording tracks for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 program in March 1988, which were later released as a limited 12" EP and CD. After several lineup changes, including the addition of Mick Harris on vocals and Carl Stokes on bass, Unseen Terror disbanded in late 1989. Years after their disbandment, the band released Grind Madness at the BBC, which compiles their BBC sessions.
