Wolfgang Brunner, born in 1958 in Regensburg, Germany, is a German university lecturer for historical keyboard instruments. He received early piano instruction from his father and later studied at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, graduating with distinction in 1981. Brunner's career took off when he began teaching at the Mozarteum University in 1985. His achievements include winning the International C.P.E. Bach Competition in Hamburg in 1988 and the International Mozart Competition Bruges in 1989. Brunner founded the Ensemble Salzburger Hofmusik in 1991, focusing on music from the 17th to 19th centuries. His discography included notable albums such as Schubert: Schubert Und Die Volksmusik (1997) and Mozart: Concertos for 3 and 2 Pianos/Sonata for 2 Pianos (2004).
