Florian Boesch, born on May 17, 1971 in Saarbrücken, West Germany, is an Austrian bass-baritone and opera singer. He began his musical journey with singing lessons from his grandmother, Kammersängerin Ruthilde Boesch, and later studied lied and oratorio at the Musikhochschule Wien under Robert Holl. Boesch made his debut with a recital in Vienna's Musikverein and gained prominence through performances at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg in 2002. His operatic roles include Papageno in Die Zauberflöte at Opernhaus Zürich, Tiridate in Handel’s Radamisto, and Guglielmo in Mozart’s Così fan tutte. Boesch has collaborated with notable conductors such as Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Simon Rattle. His discography includes albums like "Schubert: Winterreise" (2011). He was awarded the Österreichischer Musiktheaterpreis in 2014 for his role in Radamisto at Theater an der Wien.
