Sort Sol, a Danish rock band from Copenhagen, was formed in 1977 as Sods. The original lineup included Steen Jørgensen on vocals, Peter Schneidermann on guitar, Knud Odde on bass, and Tomas Ortved on drums. They released their first studio album Minutes to Go in February 1979, considered the first Danish punk album. In 1980, they released Under en sort sol, an experimental album. This was followed by Everything That Rises Must Converge (1988), which marked their artistic breakthrough, and Glamourpuss (1993). The band remained inactive in 2004 following the departure of Lars Top-Galia. Sort Sol reunited in 2011 and released The Blackest Box, a collection of their re-mastered albums.
