El Caco, a Norwegian stoner rock band from Lillestrøm, formed in 1998. The original trio consisted of lead vocalist and bassist Øyvind Osa, guitarist Anders Gjesti, and drummer Thomas Fredriksen, who was later replaced by Fredrik Wallumrød. They released the debut album Viva (2001) under the Music for Nations and Black Balloon Records labels, leading to extensive touring. They released the second album Solid Rest (2003), described as hard and melodic. Their third album The Search (2005) won the 2006 Alarm Award for Metal Album of the Year. They performed at notable festivals including the Great Indian Rock festival in New Delhi, India, and the Parkenfestivalen in Bodø, Norway. They released Hatred, Love & Diagrams (2012), which was nominated for the Norwegian Spellemann award in the Metal category. Their subsequent albums include 7 (2016) and Uncelebration (2023).
