Ronald Geoffrey Corp, born on January 4, 1951 in Wells, Somerset, England, was a composer and conductor. He studied music at Oxford University before founding New London Orchestra in 1988, launching his conducting career. This led to engagements with notable orchestras and appearances at the BBC Proms. Through New London Orchestra, Corp championed neglected repertoire from the late 19th and 20th centuries, resulting in over 20 recordings with Hyperion Records featuring composers like Milhaud and Satie. In 1994, he became musical director of the London Chorus, a position he held until his death. Corp's compositions include works for voice, such as And All the Trumpets Sounded (1989) and Laudamus (1994). He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2012 for services to music. Ronald Corp died in Bath on May 7, 2025.
