PeterLicht, born Meinrad Jungblut, is a German singer and electro‑pop musician. He first emerged in the early 2000s with the EP 6 Lieder released under his birth name in 2000, followed by the debut album Vierzehn Lieder on 22 August 2001, which established his presence in the German indie‑pop scene. In 2003 he released the album Stratosphärenlieder on 21 April, and the single "Die Geschichte Vom Sommer" on 12 August, both expanding his lyrical and sonic palette. The single "Wettentspannen" appeared on 7 April 2006, coinciding with the album Das Absolute Glück Remixe on 9 June 2006. PeterLicht’s next studio effort, Melancholie Und Gesellschaft, was issued on 5 September 2008, followed by Das Ende Der Beschwerde on 28 October 2011. Throughout his career he collaborated with producers such as Jochen Naaf and engaged in touring circuits across Germany. In 2007 he received the 3sat prize and the audience prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann competition for Die Geschichte meiner Einschätzung am Anfang des dritten Jahrtausends. PeterLicht’s work has been noted for its integration of literary themes into contemporary pop, and his releases have maintained a consistent presence on independent charts in Germany.
