Gisbert Wilhelm Enno Freiherr zu Innhausen und Knyphausen, known professionally as Gisbert zu Knyphausen, was born on April 23, 1979, in Wiesbaden, Germany. He is a singer and guitarist from Eltville-Erbach. After studying music therapy in Nijmegen, Netherlands, zu Knyphausen co-founded the indie label Omaha Records in August 2005. His debut album, Gisbert Zu Knyphausen, was released in 2008. In 2009, he won the HANS award as the best Hamburg artist and began his annual summer concert series, Heimspiel. His second album, Hurra! Hurra! So nicht., was released in 2010, reaching number 12 in the German album charts. In 2017, zu Knyphausen released the album Das Licht dieser Welt. He has collaborated with various artists, including Olli Schulz and Nils Koppruch.
