Oliver Kruck, also known as Oliver Frank, born on September 1, 1963, in Göttingen, was a German Schlager singer. He began his musical journey after a talent scout discovered him in 1985, leading to the production of his debut single "Abschied von Fernando" in Hamburg’s Star‑Studio, followed by "Im Hafen von Piräus". He released his first album, Santa Barbara, in 1988, establishing a foothold in the Schlager genre. He switched to Hansa Records in 1991, followed by contracts with DA Music in 1992 and ZYX Music in 1999, which reflected his evolving contractual relationships and enabled wider distribution. During the mid‑1990s, Oliver Frank released Liza Maria and Samstag Nacht..., and the single "Italienische Sehnsucht". He entered the ZDF‑Hitparade in October 1996, marking his entry into broader national exposure. The track, "Nichts Als Die Wahrheit (La Verità)", achieved a Top‑100 placement on Media Control charts in 2005, illustrating sustained commercial relevance. Throughout the 2000s, he produced a series of dance‑floor-oriented releases, including "Weit, Weit Von Hier" and Ciao, Bella Italia, and collaborated with notable producers such as David Brandes in 2011, yielding singles like "Kreuzverhör" and "Ich hab dich geliebt". The 2013 single "Alles Nur Fassade" signaled his return to songwriting, and the 2014 releases "Briefe von Sarah" and "Sommer in San Marino". In 2015, he released the single "Drama Queen", followed by Herz gefunden and Das passiert mir nie wieder. His album, Herz oder gar nichts, was issued in 2019, accompanied by a promotional tour that culminated on September 6, 2019. Oliver Frank passed away on February 25, 2022, after a brief illness.
