Concerto Palatino is a wind ensemble established in the early 13th century in Bologna. Originally consisting of eight trumpeters, the group expanded in the 15th century to include trombones. Between 1537 and 1779, the ensemble utilized a lineup of trumpets, cornetts, trombones, and violas. The group performed a repertoire of sacred music. In 1986, cornettist Bruce Dickey and trombonist Charles Toet revived the ensemble for historical performance practice. Its discography included the studio recordings Sonate e canzoni (2000) and Effetti e stravaganze (1994). The ensemble collaborated with the group Cantus Cölln on the recordings Wie liegt die Stadt so wüste (2010), Vespro della beata Vergine (2009), and Symphoniae Sacrae III (2005). The group also recorded the studio album Missa Maria Concertata in 1999.
