Johanna Debreczeni is a Finnish schlager and tango singer born on April 28, 1980, in Tampere. The daughter of Hungarian musician Gabriel Debreczeni, she made her first public performance in the musical Grease (1997) at the Tampere Music Theatre. Debreczeni achieved success in the Tangomarkkinat competition, reaching the finals in 2002 and winning the title of Tango Queen in 2004. Her recording career included the solo albums Parempaa (2005) and Lanteet kertovat sen (2008). In 2013, she released the collaborative album Lumenvalkeaa with her cousin, Jouni Keronen. Debreczeni’s repertoire also featured the singles “Parempaa” (2004) and “Ikävä jää” (2004). She performed in the duo Tango Primo and appeared in the 2011 Eurovision selection as a backing vocalist for Marko Maunuksela on the track “Synkän maan tango”. Her stage career involved roles in the musical Onnen Kerjäläiset (2009–2010) and an appearance at the Cumbre Mundial del Tango festival in Argentina.
