Forma Antiqva, a Spanish instrumental ensemble founded in 1999 in Langreo, Asturias, is composed of brothers Aarón Zapico on clave and direction, Pablo Zapico on baroque guitar, and Daniel Zapico on tiorba. The group specializes in performing ancient music using historical criteria and period instruments. Forma Antiqva's career began with performances at multiple festivals and their first international tour in September 2005, which included stops in Bolivia and Brazil. They were selected to represent Spain's ancient music cycles at the Réseau Européen de Musique Ancienne (REMA) in 2007. Forma Antiqva released their debut album Los Gustos Reunidos in 2001, followed by Bizarro!! Música Italiana del Seicento in 2005 and Insólito Estupor: Villancicos, Saynetes, Cantadas & Una Batalla in 2007. Their recording of Antonio Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" (2012) was critically acclaimed. Forma Antiqva has received numerous awards, including the 2016 GEMA Award for Best Recording Production and the MIN Award in 2019 for Best Classical Music Album.
