Spizzenergi, an English punk/new wave band led by vocalist/guitarist Kenneth Spiers, also known as Spizz, was formed in 1979. The band's breakthrough came with the single "Where’s Captain Kirk?", which topped the newly created UK Indie Chart in the Number 1 position in early 1980. Spizzenergi was known for its distinct new wave sound and frequent name changes, including Athletico Spizz 80, Spizzoil, and the Spizzles. Notable achievements include selling out the Marquee Club for five consecutive nights. The band disbanded in 1982 but reunited periodically for performances and releases.
