Ludger Rémy, born on February 4, 1949, in Kalkar, Germany, was a harpsichordist specializing in Baroque and classical music. He studied at the University of Freiburg from 1968 to 1974 and took private lessons with Canadian harpsichordist Kenneth Gilbert in Paris from 1973 to 1975. In 1981, Rémy founded the "Vokalensembles des Forum Alte Musik Bremen" (Vocal Ensemble of the Bremen Early Music Forum) and later established the orchestra Les Amis de Philippe to record works by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach. His notable releases include Joseph Schuster: Demofoonte (2003) and Bach: Six Suites, BWV 1007-1012, Adaptations By Ludger Rémy (2011). Rémy's teaching career began in 1978 at the University of the Arts Bremen. He passed away on June 20, 2017.
