German pop duo T.X.T. formed in 1985, consisting of Markus Mörl and Mark Jefferis. The duo came together after the end of the Neue Deutsche Welle movement. Their debut single "Girl’s Got a Brand New Toy" became a hit in European discotheques, reaching number 4 in Italy. Following this success, T.X.T. released several more singles, including "Cold As Ice", "Hot Was The Rainy Night", and "Kiss Via Satellite". However, these subsequent releases did not achieve the same level of success as their debut. Their sole album, What About You?, also failed to make a significant impact on the charts. After just two years, T.X.T. disbanded in 1987. Mark Jefferis, who had been living in Frankfurt am Main during his time with T.X.T., was a studio musician and singer in London before collaborating with Markus Mörl. Following the disbandment of T.X.T., Jefferis released a cover version of the disco classic "Born To Be Alive" by Patrick Hernandez as a solo single, but it did not achieve commercial success and remained his only solo release.
