Markus Mörl, born on 27 August 1959 in Camberg, Germany, is a pop singer known for his contributions to the German new wave movement (Neue Deutsche Welle). He began his musical journey as part of the band Nylon Euter, where he sang and played guitar. In 1982, he kicked off his solo career with the album Kugelblitze und Raketen, which included the hit single "Ich will Spaß". This song reached number one in Germany, marking a significant breakthrough for him. Other notable releases from this period include "Schön sind wir sowieso" and "Kleine Taschenlampe brenn'", a duet with Nena that was featured in the film Gib Gas – Ich will Spaß. After the new wave era, he formed the band TXT, who enjoyed success in Italy with the English single "Girl’s Got a Brand New Toy". In 1987, he returned to solo work with the single "Irgendwann, irgendwo" and later released "1000 Kerzen werden brennen" in 1992. He continued his career with various releases in the 2010s and 2020s, including 2022 album Das Leben liebt mich ...und ich liebe das Leben.
