Dany Engobo, born in 1955 in Congo, was a Congolese musician and singer. He began his music career in Brazzaville before moving to Paris in 1976 where he formed the band Les Coeurs Brises. The group included musicians from France, Algeria, Israel, and Congolese dancers living in Paris. Engobo collaborated with guitarist Diblo Dibala on many of his songs. Les Coeurs Brises toured extensively across Europe, the United States, and Africa but never performed in Congo. Engobo's music was primarily in Lingala and French, and he contributed to popularizing the Ndombolo dance style. His notable albums include Okiekieni (1998) and Harem (2000).
