Die Priester is a German vocal group consisting of three Roman Catholic priests formed to blend pop music with classical compositions. The project was initiated by Abbot Primate Notker Wolf and Cistercian monk Karl Wallner from Heiligenkreuz Abbey. The ensemble has included Father Vianney Meister, then-Abbot Rhabanus Petri of Schweiklberg, and Andreas Schätzle, a diocesan priest. Their debut album, Spiritus Dei, was released in 2011, featuring interpretations of classical works and contemporary titles. The group predominantly sings in Latin and German. On February 14, 2013, Die Priester participated in the Our Song for Malmö competition with "Meerstern, sei gegrüßt" ("Sea Star, Hail"), finishing in 10th place.
