Sefora Nelson (born Sefora Gaertig, 1979) is a German Christian pop singer, songwriter, and talk show host from Freudenstadt. Nelson studied singing and theology in Chicago and Strasbourg, performing in prisons and for the homeless during her education. In 2009, producer Arne Kopfermann recruited Nelson, who won the SPRING-Song Contest 2009 with the song “Thank You For Valleys”. Nelson released her debut German-language solo album, Wenn der Tag kommt, in March 2010 via Gerth Medien. Her discography includes the albums Mehr als genug (2012), Glück (2015), Näher, noch näher (2017), Du bist (2019), and Tu mirada (2019). In 2019, Nelson received IMPALA Silver Awards for the albums Näher, noch näher, Glück, and Mehr als genug. She resumed public activity in 2017 following vocal health issues and launched the talk show Zu Gast bei Sefora Nelson in 2021.
