David Torrens, born November 8, 1968, in Guanabacoa, Cuba, is a Cuban singer. He started his musical education at Escuela Elemental de Arte Guillermo Tomás and later studied engineering while playing guitar. In the mid-1980s, David Torrens began his career as a keyboardist for Canto Libre, composing his first songs with the band. In 1996, he released his debut album, Mi poquita fe, under EMI Music of Mexico. The album featured "Sentimientos ajenos", which won the ERES award for most requested song. Its music video, directed by Ernesto Fundora, received the best music video award at the Lucas Awards. In 2001, David Torrens released Ni de Aquí ni de Allá, blending pop with various rhythms including rap, rock, and bolero. The album included "Quién me quiere a mí". After returning to Cuba in 2010, he released his third album, Razones.
