Jonathan Fournel, born on October 2, 1993 in Sarrebourg, France, is a French pianist who began his studies at age seven under Marianne Henry. He continued his education at the Strasbourg Conservatory and later studied at the École supérieure de musique de la Sarre with Robert Leonardy and Jean Micault. In 2009, Fournel entered the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris, training under notable pianists including Bruno Rigutto, Brigitte Engerer, Claire Désert, and Michel Dalberto. Fournel's career breakthrough came with victories at the Concours international de musique Gian-Battista-Viotti in 2013 and the Concours international de piano de Glasgow in 2014. In 2021, he won the first prize at the Concours musical international Reine Élisabeth de Belgique. His debut album, Brahms: Piano Sonata No. 3 Op. 5 & Handel Variations, was released in 2021.
