LaToya Renee London, born on December 29, 1978 in San Francisco, California, is an American singer and stage actress. She began singing at age four and gained national attention as a fourth-place finalist on the third season of American Idol in 2004. Following her appearance on American Idol, London released her debut album, Love & Life, in September 2005. She has since focused on stage work, originating the role of Nettie in the national tour of the Broadway musical The Color Purple from 2007 to 2010 and winning an Ovation Award for her performance.
