Preston W. Glass, born January 9, 1960 in California, is an American songwriter and producer known for his contributions to soul music. He began his career in the late 1970s as a staff writer for Philadelphia producer Thom Bell. Glass's early work included playing on Aretha by Aretha Franklin (1980) and Sixteen by Stacy Lattisaw (1981). He later produced Perfect Combination with Johnny Gill and Lattisaw (1984), and played on Starchild by Teena Marie (1984). Throughout the 1980s, Glass collaborated with notable artists such as Whitney Houston, Kenny G, George Benson, Diana Ross, Natalie Cole, and Earth, Wind & Fire. He produced albums like Duotones by Kenny G (1986) and Twice the Love by George Benson (1988). Glass has won six BMI Awards for his work. His own albums include Street Corner Prophecy (2006), Music as Medicine (2008), and Colors of Life.
