Like many South Korean performers the actor, rapper and songwriter Kwon Hyun-Bin found fame and fortune after appearing on the second season of the popular TV talent show 'Produce 101'. Hyun-Bin appeared on the show along with 101 other young men, all hopeful of making it through to the final after appearing in a gruelling series of knock-out rounds adjudicated by the notoriously fickle TV audience. After the production company had whittled the contestants down to six finalists (including Hyun-Bin) they formed the winners into what became known as the JBJ band. Amidst a blaze of publicity the band's management company launched the band into the public in July 2017 and during the next few months released one album titled 'New Moon' along with four singles and two EPs. Less than a year later it was all over, the band's contracts expired and Kwon Hyun-Bin re-invented himself as a solo artist.
