Susan Schubert

Susan Schubert, born on June 16, 1959, in Batoș, Romania, is a German Schlager and folk music singer. She belongs to the German-speaking minority of Transylvanian Saxons and first performed on stage at the age of seven. In 1976, she won a Schlager competition in Romania. Schubert moved to Germany in 1978 and was discovered by Bernd Meinunger in the 1980s. She participated in several German Eurovision Song Contest pre-selections with songs like "Sehnsucht nach einem Gefühl" (1985), "Du bist mehr" (1991), and "Shalalaika" (1992). Additionally, she competed in the Grand Prix der Volksmusik with "Vino mit Peppino" (1997) and "Mehr als alles auf der Welt" (2004). Her repertoire includes Schlager, folk music, evergreens, and melancholic songs. Notable albums include Lieblingsschlager (2017), Sehnsucht nach einem Gefühl, Lass mich noch mal, and Weil ich Dich liebe.
