100 Proof (Aged in Soul) is an American soul group formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1969. The group was assembled by the former Motown songwriting team Holland-Dozier-Holland and signed to their new label Hot Wax Records. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Somebody's Been Sleeping", which reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and sold over one million copies, earning a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America in 1970. The group also recorded "She's Not Just Another Woman", initially intended as an album track but released under the name 8th Day due to chart strategy; it peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 3 on the R&B charts. Their debut LP, Somebody's Been Sleeping in My Bed, was released by Hot Wax in 1970. The group disbanded in 1973 but saw a brief revival with a different lineup in 1977. Notable members included Steve Mancha, Eddie Holiday, Joe Stubbs, Carlis McKinley "Sonny" Monroe, Donald "Don" Hatcher, Donnell "Doni" Hagan, and Herschel Hunter.
