Silent Majority was a Swiss rap and hip hop music group, formed in 1994. The band was produced by Goetz, known for his work with U2 and Faithless. Silent Majority gained recognition as turntable pioneers at the forefront of Swiss hip-hop, defining themselves as "funky multi-linguals" who rapped in a mixture of English, Jamaican patois, French, Spanish, and Swahili. They released their first EP, Frankly Speaking, in 1993, followed by their album, La Majorité Silencieuse, in 1994. The group's final album, Nightbloomers, was released in 1998, after which the members decided to split up.
