Whysall Lane was an American indie rock band based in San Francisco, formed in 1999. The group initially began as a solo acoustic project for Richard Baluyut, singer/guitarist of Versus, who performed original material and covers. In 2001, after Versus disbanded temporarily, Whysall Lane became Baluyut's primary musical outlet. The band's lineup solidified around Baluyut on vocals and guitar, Mikel Delgado on bass and vocals, Adam Pfahler on drums, and Lorna Lithgow on keyboards. Their music blended elements of 1990s indie rock and classic rock, with lyrics inspired by romantic obsession. In 2004, the band released "Everything Slows Down", which appeared on 2004 TeenBeat Sampler. Their debut album, Whysall Lane, was released on February 14, 2006, via Blackball Records. Whysall Lane's live performances were relatively infrequent and primarily took place in Southern California. In late 2006, Mikel Delgado left the band, leading to its disbandment.
