Samuel D. Anderson, known professionally as Sam Sneed, is an American record producer and rapper. Sneed worked as a producer for K-Solo and the Hit Squad before signing with Death Row Records in 1993. A breakthrough occurred with the single “U Better Recognize” (1994), featuring Dr. Dre, which appeared on the soundtrack Murder Was the Case (1994). The single reached number 16 on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales chart and number 18 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart. Sneed provided the intro for the track “Pump Pump” (1993) on the Snoop Dogg album Doggystyle (1993). Sneed co-produced the songs “Keep Their Heads Ringin'” (1995) and “Natural Born Killaz” (1994). Following an unreleased project in 1996 with the group Street Scholars, Sneed released the album Street Scholars (2011).
