Nicu Alifantis, born on May 31, 1954 in Brăila, Romania, is a musician, singer, and composer of folk and theater music. He began his music career privately studying music and made his stage debut in 1973. In 1976, he released his first record material, Cîntec De Noapte, an EP published by Electrecord. After serving in the army, Alifantis became a member of the Cenacle Flacăra. He performed in over 4,000 concerts between 1973 and 2002. In 1995, he founded the group Alifantis & Zan for his album Voiaj (1995). Notable albums include Mitică Popescu, released in 1985, and Simphonicu, released in 2005. Alifantis received several awards, including the UNITER Prize for Theater Music in 1991 and the Constanța Theater Music Award in 1995. In 2017, he was named an Honorary Citizen of Brăila.
