Timothy Charles Shaw, known professionally as Tim Exile, is an electronic music producer. He began experimenting with electronic music at age 12 and gained his first drum and bass release in 1999. Exile studied philosophy at Durham University, where he wrote his dissertation on the difference between music and noise, and later completed an MA in electroacoustic composition there. His debut album Pro Agonist was released by Planet Mu in 2005. In 2006, he released Tim Exile’s Nuisance Gabbaret Lounge, followed by Listening Tree on Warp Records in 2009. In 2016, he launched Endlesss, a collaborative music-making app inspired by his live performance system Flow Machine, with a desktop version released in 2020.
