Encarnación Amador Santiago, known artistically as La Susi, was born in 1955 in Alicante, Spain. She was a Spanish flamenco singer and dancer of Romani heritage. She debuted at 14 in Madrid’s Los Canasteros, earning the nickname La Camaronera after accompanying Tomatito and Camarón de la Isla. Her first recording, La Primavera (1977), was produced by her father and marked her entry into the professional circuit. Over the following decades she released a steady stream of albums, including De Fiesta y Luna (1984) and Agua De Mayo (2001). She collaborated with José Mercé, Estrella Morente, and Javier Limón, and appeared in the 2012 Bienal de Flamenco in Sevilla. La Susi passed away in 2020.
