Serafin, a British rock group formed in London in September 2000, emerged from the dissolution of Stony Sleep when Ben Fox Smith met Darryn Harkness at a Eurovision party; both have remained constant members. Their early work consisted of two four‑track EPs released on Taste Media in 2002, followed by the single "Things Fall Apart" on 7 April 2003, which preceded their debut album No Push Collide on 28 July 2003. The album, produced by Dave Sardy in Los Angeles, established the band’s presence on the UK alternative scene and led to extensive touring, including appearances at Reading and Leeds and support slots for Frank Black, Muse, and Feeder. In 2003 the single "Day By Day" was featured in the Madden NFL 2004 video game, extending their reach beyond traditional media. After a brief hiatus and legal complications following Taste Media’s acquisition by Warner Music Group, Serafin released a second album, To The Teeth, in December 2007 under their own label Our Rekords; the album was produced by Ian Caple in London. The group quietly disbanded later that decade, though they returned to release new material in 2020, marking a brief resurgence of their earlier sound.
