Ethnix is an Israeli band formed in 1989. Before adopting the name Ethnix, the group performed as Moskva beginning in 1985, and they are known for combining new wave with oriental melodies. Formed by vocalist Ze'ev Nechama and keyboardist Tamir Kaliski, the group initially collaborated with Yoad Nevo for its debut album, Ethnix, in 1990. Following Nevo's departure, drummer Gal Hadani and guitarist Gil Alon joined for subsequent recordings, including Masala in 1991, which sold over 60,000 copies within its first six months. In 1996, guitarist and bassist Yoram Poizner joined the ensemble. Ethnix is recognized for producing other artists such as Eyal Golan, including the hit "Jessica". The group continued to release albums, including Yelalat Tan (1992), Pop (1996), and Bruchim Habaim L'Yisrael (1998). In 2011, during a concert in Caesarea, the band announced that Gilad Pasternak would replace Alon.
