Symphony in Peril, a metalcore band from Columbus, Ohio, was formed in early 2002. The group gained attention quickly due to the involvement of Shawn Jonas, former vocalist for Zao. They signed with Facedown Records and released their debut album Lost Memoirs and Faded Pictures in November 2003. The band toured extensively, performing at notable festivals such as Cornerstone and Sonshine, and collaborated with bands like Nodes of Ranvier and the Chariot. In February 2005, they released their second album, The Whore's Trophy, but vocalist Shawn Jonas left the band in June 2005, followed by an announcement in October that Symphony in Peril would disband after a few final performances. The band reformed in 2022 with several new members and released the single "Authored Confusion" (2022). In February 2023, they announced their first show in 18 years at the 2023 Furnace Fest preshow.
