Means, a Canadian post-hardcore and metalcore band from Regina, Saskatchewan, was formed in 2001 by Matt Goud. Originally named Means 2 An End, they self-released early works like Soul Soup for the Teenage Chicken (2001) and Demo 2002 (2002). In 2004, they released their debut album under their shortened name, In Red Grace. The band's lineup evolved over time, with Dylan Johnstone and Todd Wells joining in 2005 and 2006. Their subsequent releases included More than Watchmen for the Morning (2006), which notably won the Hard Music Album of the Year at the GMA Canada Covenant Awards, Sending You Strength (2007), and To Keep Me from Sinking (2008). The band disbanded after a series of farewell shows in late 2008, concluding with a sold-out performance on November 28 at the Riddell Centre in Regina.
