The Smallgoods, an Australian indie pop band, originated from Port Fairy, Victoria. The group was formed in 1999 by brothers Gus and Lachlan Franklin, Ben Mason, and Shags Chamberlain. Initially known as Lukewerm, the band changed their name to The Smallgoods, reflecting their '60s-inspired sound. Their debut album, Listen to the Radio, released in November 2003, received significant airplay on Triple J and other community radio stations across Australia. The single "Abraham Lincoln" from this album was named Single of the Week by Melbourne's Inpress magazine. The band toured extensively with acts like The Shins and Ben Kweller, and notably performed at the Port Fairy Folk Festival in 2003. In August 2004, the band released their third EP, This is the Show. In 2007, they signed with Lost & Lonesome Record Company and released their second album, Down on the Farm.
