Wilfred Nalani "Moe" Keale, born on December 3, 1939, in Niʻihau, Hawaii, was an American musician and actor known for his contributions to Hawaiian music. Raised on Oʻahu, Keale began playing the ukulele at age four, immersed in the ancestral customs and values of his birthplace. His first paid musical gig with his group the Four K's was at the Waikīkī Tavern circa 1958. In 1969, he joined Eddie Kamae's Sons of Hawaiʻi, remaining with the group until 1977. Keale released three solo albums: South Sea Island Magic (1980), Aloha is A Part of Me, A Part of You (1986), and Imagine (1996). He also appeared in various films and TV series, notably Hawaii Five-O where he played Truck Kealoha. In 2003, the Hawaiʻi Academy of Recording Arts instituted the Moe Keale "Aloha Is" Award in its Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. Keale died from a heart attack on April 15, 2002, aged 62.
