Anthony Wonsey (born 1972) is an American jazz pianist from Chicago. After receiving classical training from his mother, he studied at the Berklee College of Music, graduating in 1994. While based in Boston, he performed with Roy Hargrove and Antonio Hart. Wonsey released his debut album, Anthonyology, in 1995 with Carl Allen and Christian McBride, followed by Another Perspective. In 1998, he released Open the Gates for the Criss Cross label. Wonsey’s later discography includes The Thang (2005) and the 2010 collaboration Play the Great American Songbook. In 2023, he released the album Tangforce. Throughout his career, Wonsey performed with the ensembles of Elvin Jones, Clark Terry, and Buster Williams, and became a member of Vincent Herring’s Earth Jazz Agents. He has also collaborated with Wynton Marsalis, Carmen Lundy, and Russell Malone.
