Wafande Pierre Jolivel Zahor, known mononymously as Wafande, was born on January 21, 1983, in Freetown Christiania, Copenhagen, Denmark, and sings and writes songs. Wafande is of African-French descent. Growing up in Freetown Christiania, Wafande moved to France with family at the age of eight. A breakthrough came with the platinum summer Number 1 single "Gi' Mig Et Smil" (2011), produced by Pharfar and Fresh-I. Subsequent releases include the gold-certified debut album Du Ved Det (2011) and the EP Grand Danois (2015), which featured the hit single "Himlen For Mig Selv". In 2019, Wafande collaborated with Shaka Loveless on a new Danish project.
