The Impossibles was an American rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 1994. Initially known as the Fat Girls, they featured Gabe Hascall on vocals and guitar, Rory Phillips on vocals and guitar, Craig Tweedy on bass, and Pat Elliott on drums. They transitioned to The Impossibles after signing with the Fueled by Ramen label and released their debut self-titled album, The Impossibles (1997). Their music blended ska punk with indie and alternative rock. In 1998, they announced their disbandment. They reunited in 2000, releasing the album Return (2000) and touring extensively before disbanding again in 2002. Following their second break-up, Phillips and Hascall formed the group Slowreader, focusing on acoustic songwriting. They reunited again in 2012, later releasing the live album Long Way From // Long Time Since (2013) and the 7" single "Come Back / The Position" (2013).
