The Dawn Parade were a British rock band from Bury St Edmunds, formed in 2000 by Greg McDonald. Initially known as The Hip Down, they adopted the name The Dawn Parade in 2001 after several lineup changes. Their debut single, "Good Luck Olivia", was released in 2001, followed by their first EP, Electric Fence Your Gentleness, released in 2002. The band gained critical acclaim from Rolling Stone and John Peel, performing live sessions for the latter. In 2003, they released Caffeine Row and toured extensively across the UK. Following lineup changes and a brief hiatus, The Dawn Parade released The Underground in 2004. Their debut album, The Dawn Parade, was released in November 2006 after the band split in August of that year.
