Armand Alexander "Eddie" Noack Jr., also known as Eddie Noack, born on April 29, 1930, in Houston, Texas, was an American country and western singer-songwriter. He pursued a music career after winning a talent contest in 1947. Noack's early recordings included "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" for Gold Star Records in 1949. He recorded for various labels throughout the 1950s and had notable success with his composition "These Hands", covered by Hank Snow in 1956. Noack served in the Army from 1954 to 1956, after which he returned to songwriting and music publishing. His most controversial recording was "Psycho" for K-Ark Records in 1968, a cover of Leon Payne's murder ballad that became a cult favorite. He moved to Nashville in 1976 and worked as an executive with the Nashville Songwriters Association until his death from a cerebral hemorrhage on February 5, 1978.
