Taking cues from influences rooted in classic rock and roll such as The Beatles and Rolling Stones, as well as Australian luminaries Jet and Silverchair, the Gerringong-based indie rock quartet produce an interconnected sound that is virtuously and intuitively their own.
Since their 2017 inception, Pacific Avenue have released a hatful of singles, including the likes of ‘In Your Arms’, ‘Girlfriend’ and ‘Sally’, along with debut EP ‘Strawberry Skies’, featuring the memorable ‘Excuse Me’ and the band’s most streamed song to date, ‘Something Good’. These releases led to the band sharing the stage with local favourites Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and Tash Sultana, and scored the band festival appearances at Yours & Owls, Lost Paradise and This That.
2021 saw the band release their most commercially successful single, ‘Easy Love’. The song gained immense approval from triple j, added to full rotation and placed at #108 in that year’s Hottest 200 countdown. They were named triple j Unearthed Feature Artist, scoring a 5-star review from Home & Hosed presenter Declan Byrne, and 4.5 stars from Richard Kingsmill.
The band show no signs of slowing down in 2022, as they are set to tour the country once again off the back of their new stunner ‘Give It Up For Yourself’; another sugary taste of their upcoming debut album to be released later in the year via BMG.
