Old Mervs have unveiled their new single ‘Heavy In The Morning.’
Written in Injidup, Western Australia, ‘Heavy In The Morning’ sees Old Mervs reunite with ARIA Award-winning producer Chris Collins, the collaborator behind their #1 self-titled debut. The breakout album stormed to #4 on the ARIA Albums Chart and delivered a run of fan favourites including ‘What You’ve Lost’, ‘Parched’, ‘Don’t Go’, and ‘Everyone Will See It’. ‘Heavy In The Morning’ builds on that momentum, pairing the band’s coastal roots with the sharp, anthemic sound that has quickly become their calling card.
Old Mervs share an unbreakable bond between lifelong mates David and Henry, who hail from the tiny farming community of Kojonup, a town three hours south of Perth in Western Australia. Starting out as school friends rehearsing in a makeshift space in an old farm shed, Old Mervs have come a long way from their humble beginnings. Turning heads with their sun-soaked indie sound, the duo have built a reputation for electric live shows, headlining across Australia and sharing stages with Liam Gallagher, The Wombats, Spacey Jane and King Stingray. A festival favourite, Old Mervs have also played Lollapalooza, Splendour In The Grass, Yours & Owls, Beyond The Valley, Groovin the Moo, Rolling Sets and more.
In 2025, Old Mervs placed #38 in the triple j Hottest 100 with ‘What You’ve Lost’, while ‘Parched’ landed at #105 and ‘Forget It’ at #128 in the Hottest 200. The duo have received strong airplay support across triple j, Triple M, Radio Adelaide, SYN Radio and RTR FM, alongside growing support across Spotify and Apple Music. They have also received praise from tastemakers including Rolling Stone Australia, Tone Deaf, The Music, Beat Magazine, The West Australian, Scenestr, Forte Magazine, Music Feeds, X-Press, The Note and more.
