The Ivy League, an English vocal trio, was formed in August 1964 by John Carter, Ken Lewis, and Perry Ford, all seasoned session singers with extensive vocal ranges. Their debut single "What More Do You Want" generated little interest but their second release, "Funny How Love Can Be", reached the UK chart's Top 10 in 1965. Further hits included "That's Why I'm Crying" and "Tossing and Turning", which peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The original trio released one album, This Is the Ivy League, in 1965 before both Carter and Lewis left the group. Tony Burrows and Neil Landon replaced them, leading to the release of two more albums, Sounds of the Ivy League (1967) and Tomorrow Is Another Day (1969). The band continued to perform with various lineups until 1975 when Ford stopped using the name. In the 1990s, several compilations were released, including Major League: The Collectors' Ivy League. The Ivy League performed their last show on July 9, 2017, at the Pontins holiday resort in Pakefield.
