Joseph Laurence Lynch, born on July 16, 1925, in Mallow, County Cork, Ireland, was an Irish actor and singer. He began his career part-time with the Cork Shakespearean Company before transitioning to full-time acting by 1947. Lynch's musical career included performances in films such as Johnny Nobody (1961). He was also a founding member of the Radio Éireann Players. Lynch's acting career spanned both comedy and drama, with significant roles in films like The Siege of Sidney Street (1960) and Ulysses (1967), as well as television shows such as Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width. He won Jacob’s Awards for his acting on RTÉ television in 1962 and 1977. Lynch's final audio work was voicing "Grundel the Toad" in the film Thumbelina (1994). He passed away on August 1, 2001.
