The Retrosic, a German electronic music band, was founded in 2001 by Jörg Kundinger. The group released their debut album, Prophecy, in 2001 under their own label, Tribune Records. Their second release, the EP Messa da Requiem, included the single "Ground Zero" and reached number 4 on the German Alternative Charts in 2002. In 2004, The Retrosic released God of Hell through Soulfood Music, which topped the charts at number 2 on the year-end chart. Their third album, Nightcrawler, was released in 2006 and featured the single "Nightcrawler", which reached number 3 on the DAC chart, and the album reached number 5. It was named Album of the Month in the soundchecks of major German music magazines, such as Zillo, Sonic Seducer, and Orkus. In May 2007, The Retrosic made its live debut at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival in Leipzig, performing in front of 7,000 spectators. A recording of the concert was made for a planned DVD release, which was never issued.
